Practice experience

Irma Jacobson brings deep experience in administrative and regulatory matters—shaped by training at a premier Texas firm, federal appellate and bankruptcy court internships, and years of advocacy before healthcare and professional licensing agencies.

Background

  • Associate training at Jackson Walker, a leading Texas law firm, before founding Jacobson PLLC
  • Judicial intern to the Honorable Jennifer W. Elrod, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
  • Judicial intern to the Honorable Jeff Bohm, Chief Bankruptcy Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas
  • Instrumental in the drafting and passing of SB 2269, which was designed to strengthen protections for long-term care facilities during survey inspections. Going into effect September 1, 2025, the law ensures that decisions made by independent peer-review organizations are fully binding on state health regulators, preventing duplicate fines and stopping retaliation against facilities that appeal decisions.
